FULL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PROGRAM
Primary education at AFSB focuses on basic academic learning and socialization skills, introducing children to the broad range of knowledge, skill, and behavioral adjustments they need to succeed in life, particularly, in secondary (High) school. Students learn basic arithmetic, English proficiency (such as basic grammar, spelling, and vocabulary), and fundamentals of other subjects such as Science, Art, and Physical Education. Students will also learn about social issues through the subjects of Science and English. Bulgarian will be taught based on demand as an extra-curricular subject outside of school hours.
We accept students in 1st grade as early as 5 years of age.
The school days will be Monday through Friday, starting at 8:30. No lunch or transportation is included in the tuition, but we might be able to offer a catering option for students. We work with academic hours of 40 minutes. From 5th grade onwards, the academic hour becomes 50 minutes.
Whenever possible, we strive to keep group sizes to a small number in order to provide the best student-teacher experience.
The number of students enrolled in private elementary schools in the United States in 2018 was 2.82 million.
In 2018, school enrollment in public and private elementary schools was generally higher than in other educational institutions.
The list of reasons why the United States system of education is the best in the world is long and wide. Our curriculum has a breadth that other countries simply would not even consider.
/ PROGRAM OUTLINE
Core subjects such as English, Math, and Science are taught in elementary school, and the standards used are set by the State of Florida and the American Common Core curriculum. Students spend about 5 hours learning and remain in a designated classroom throughout the school day. After school, students participate in Art, music, and Physical Education activities. Our school is surrounded by beautiful nature in the heart of the Sea Garden and sports facilities and whenever possible, outdoor activities will be encouraged.
